Vena Cava is a very unorthodox type of boutique winery. For example, the roof is constructed from upside down recycled boats.  It was designed by architect Alejandro D’acosta whose philosophy is to re-purpose reclaimed materials that one may find lying around and was built to follow a radial pattern which speeds up production by minimizing the distance between different mechanisms.  Owner Phil Gregory represents a new generation of wine makers in the Valle De Guadalupe exploring new techniques of wine making while keeping in sync the quality of wine taste and the self sustainability of the land.
